1. Information we handle

kanjikaki can be used without an account. Text entered for analysis, handwriting practice content, and selected kanji are processed in the browser by default.

Limited technical information (access time, browser type, and error logs) may be handled by hosting, security, or analytics providers. We do not sell entered text for advertising.

2. Storage and deletion

Preferences such as language, benchmark level, and recent study state may be stored in browser localStorage. Clearing site data or cookies removes those settings.

The current service does not save entered text in a kanjikaki server database. If accounts or sync are added, the stored fields and choices will be disclosed before launch.

3. Ads and cookies

The service may use Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, may process cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, and other identifiers to serve ads, measure frequency and performance, and prevent invalid activity. They may serve ads based on prior visits to this or other sites.

Personalized advertising can be managed through Google Ads Settings or browser cookie controls. Where consent is required, an appropriate choice mechanism is provided and non-personalized processing or no advertising is applied according to the user’s choice and applicable rules.

4. Children and guardians

kanjikaki is a general-audience Japanese learning tool that does not require registration or a date of birth. Users under 13 should use it with a parent, guardian, or teacher. Activity known to come from a child is not used for personalized advertising.

5. Requests

Send data corrections, privacy questions, or deletion requests to the contact address below. Information received for a request is used only to respond to it.
